portrait stuff
This is all work from my portrait painting for illustration class. just some quick charcoals and paintings. the first two paintings were 1 hour studies and the last one we had about 3 hours on. I think the caricature work from the summer came out a little in Richards neck, I couldn't resist.

portraits
The top painting is of Maureen, my neighbor, classmate, fellow Kaman's coworker, its for my illustration portrait painting class. On this one I focused more on defining shapes and having smooth transitions from light to shadow rather than focusing on exact color. I used a limited color palette of red oxide, yellow ochre, ivory black and titanium white. The second painting is a one day painting I did in my fine arts portrait painting class. This took about 6 hours.
